Dates and Deadlines for 2007-2008

  • Our Season of Play starts on March 3, 2008. Competition between a school team and a team outside that school may not take place before that date.
  • Player Registration Forms must be submitted to the BC SCHOOL SPORTS office through the on-line registration system no later than April 7, 2008. Please carefully read sections C2.4.3 (Adding Names to a Player Registration Form), and C2.5.3 (Final Deadlines for Player Registration Forms) of the BC SCHOOL SPORTS Handbook and Directory.
  • Applications for the BC Secondary Schools' Rugby Union Scholarships must be received no later than April 11, 2008. More information at application procedures.
  • The BCSSRU Invitational 'Sevens' Tournament will be held on April 12 and 13, 2008, and will be hosted by St. George's School (Vancouver BC). More information at 2008 'Sevens' Tournament.
  • The final day on which teams may qualify for the Provincial Championship Tournaments is Thursday, May 15, 2008. Final rankings and the Tournament Draw will be posted on the website the following day.
  • The Provincial 'AAA' and 'AA' Championship Tournaments will be held as follows: Round 1 games (at various locations around the Province) on May 24, 2008. Rounds 2, 3 and 4 games (incl. Championship Finals) at the University of British Columbia from May 28 to 31, 2008.

Britannia High School Centennial Celebration
As part of Britannia High School's Centennial Celebration weekend, returning alumni are welcomed to partake in the annual Britannia Rugby Homecoming Cup match. Alumni from any generation are welcome to participate in whatever capacity they are able. We are looking for players, coaches, managers, referees, spectators, BBQ'ers, hecklers and story tellers. All alumni and supporters are welcome.
